Meet Your Guide...
My name is Jake, and I am a child of the Civil Rights Movement and an actual participant in the Selma to Montgomery Voting Rights March.  I was raised in rural Lowndes County, just outside of Montgomery, Alabama at the height of the Civil Rights Movement.

Lowndes County was the site of two of the most violent acts of the Civil Rights Movement, the murder of Mrs. Viola Liuzzo, who was transporting people who had participated in the Selma to Montgomery Voting Rights March, and the murder of Jonathan Daniels who was participating in a protest to register black people to vote.

I was involved in all of the Civil Rights mass meetings and protests that organized and registered Blacks to vote.  My early years of involvement in the Civil Righs Movement has provided me with a unique perspective of the movement.
